charleston website design

www.angeloakpet.com

Last week saw the launch of another DesignTechWeb featured website.

Replacing an older site, Angel Oak Animal Hospital needed an updated design that would be easy to maintain, and within their small business website budget. Using some stock photos and personalized images from the staff, DTW worked with the business owners to develop a design that was stylish and yet flexible, with expansion options that would meet their needs for the future.

The site ties in the practice’s Facebook presence, and also begins them on the road to developing their website as a communications tool with their clients, with a strong blogging platform and RSS feeds.

We were happy to work with them to come up with a design that portrayed the elegant style that want to portray in all their work. As the company grows the site will be expanded to include a client portal for ongoing collaborations, a project management component, and a gallery.

Lapis Press net

Lapis Press - Uplift and Inspire

This is another very simple, but elegant, business card style site we did for a publishing client.  She plans on going to a more full featured site, and even possibly on-line store, at a later date. But, for now, this simple web presence gives the professionalism and credibility that all businesses need.  Another benefit? By securing your domain name when you do as simple site like this, your are able to use your own domain for your email address and forever rid yourself of the moniker of being one of those people who advertises for AOL, Yahoo! or HotMail.

The Unitarian Church in Charleston Uses DotNetNuke

The UCC Uses DotNetNuke

To fully meet the needs of the growing congregation we developed the website for the Unitarian Church in Charleston on the DotNetNuke web platform. This allows for a full membership database, content management easily broken down by individual or group or committee, security for the areas of the site containing youth information, and more. There are also blogs and discussion groups available for specific activities or events within the church.

DotNetNuke, or DNN for short, is especially well suited to this type of growing and evolving design because of it construction on the Microsoft ASP.Net tools and its integration with the Microsoft tools and suite of products. While other tools, such as Drupal using CiviCRM, can do many if not all of the same functions, Amanda has found that most of the capabilities she needs are present in DotNetNuke right out of the box. And since DNN is free Open Source software, like Drupal and WordPress, the costs to implement remain low.
